Privacy Policy
Quiz Shorts is a personal, single-operator tool that produces short quiz videos for the YouTube channel Everyday Knowledge and publishes them through Google's YouTube APIs. This page explains what data the App touches and why.
Who operates it
The App is operated by the owner of the Everyday Knowledge channel. It runs on the operator's own computer. It is not offered to, or usable by, anyone else. Contact: kris.deane93@gmail.com.
What Google data the App uses
With the operator's authorisation, the App uses the YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API to:
- upload videos, set their title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy status and scheduled publish time;
- read the channel's own video statistics and audience-retention reports;
- post one top-level comment per video (a question inviting viewers to vote on the next topic) and read public comments on the channel's own videos.
The App accesses only the operator's own channel. It does not access any other Google account, Gmail, Drive, contacts, or any other Google service.
How viewer data is handled
Public comments on the channel's videos are read solely to count votes and reactions in aggregate (for example, how many comments said "A" or "B", or "โ " or "โ"). The App stores those counts. It does not store commenter names, channel IDs, profile pictures or the text of comments beyond the time needed to count them, and it never displays, reads aloud or reproduces any viewer's name or comment in a video or anywhere else.
Storage and sharing
All data the App stores (authorisation tokens, video records, aggregate statistics) is kept on the operator's own computer. Tokens are encrypted at rest. Nothing is sent to any third party. The App uses no advertising, analytics or tracking services of its own.
Retention and deletion
Aggregate statistics are kept for as long as the channel is operated. The operator can delete all stored data at any time by removing the App's local data files, and can revoke the App's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The App's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date.
